Women Like Us Festival

Following the success of the This Girl Can Essex Festivals in February we are delighted to announce details of the autumn events taking place in Epping Forest on the 7th October (and Southend on the 13th October).

Our festival events are aimed at encouraging ladies of all abilities to come and have fun being active. With a range of activities taking place throughout the day we want to highlight the variety of opportunities and activities that take place in the local area and encourage women and girls to maybe try something new. All activities will be delivered by experienced and friendly tutors from local community groups.

All events are FREE to attend but we do need you to register. The first 50 to do so will get a free Festival Training Vest – so be sure to state your size. Don’t worry, there will be some vests available on the day and we suggest a donation of £5 to go to the Active Essex Foundation which aims to engage harder to reach groups in physical activity and sport.

Attendees must be 14 years old or over.

Refreshments available throughout the day from the onsite café

Participants are encouraged to take part in as many activity sessions as they like. Activity sessions will be filled on a first come first serve basis on the day so we recommend arriving early to sign up for the activities you want to try.

Drop in sessions do not need to be signed up to and are available for you to turn up and try.

Additional FREE 45 minute workshops provided by Cherry Tree Therapy Centre need to be signed up for on booking.

Parking is available for disabled participants on site, other parking is available locally a 5 minute walk from the centre at Bansons Lane carpark (Free), Sainsburys carpark (Free) and The Pleasance carpark(£1 all day)

T-shirts will be available on the day in exchange for a minimum £5 cash donation to the Active Essex Foundation
