About

De Vere Theobalds Estate in Cheshunt has an illustrious history, having several former lives from being the home of Royals to being a WWII riding school, before eventually being turned into a hotel during the 1990s.

The grade II listed mansion house has a warm brick facade, towering turrets and elegant arched windows the hotel provides a memorable setting.

The 55 acres of parkland surrounding the hotel provide the perfect setting for team building, weddings or other events.

Looking out across the landscaped Italian gardens and the Hertfordshire countryside beyond, it’s easy to forget that De Vere Theobalds Estate is only 10 miles north of central London, and just minutes away from J25 of the M25.

The restaurant provides modern British dishes that are seasonally sourced. We have a very enthusiastic and creative kitchen team who work passionately to ensure that all dishes are served to perfection. We can cater for special diets and all of our menus highlight all allergies.

Breakfast is served from 7.00am - 9.30am Monday to Friday, and 7.30am to 11.00am Saturday and Sunday. The bar menu is available from midday to 10.00pm Monday to Sunday, and the Courtyard Restaurant is open from 7.00pm to 9.30pm, Monday to Saturday. A limited menu is also available on the 24 hour in room menu.

We have a total of 140 bedrooms located in the Mansion House, the Ridings Barn and the New End. All bedrooms are en suite and come with complimentary wifi.There are 5 single bedrooms, 96 double bedrooms, 9 family bedrooms, 6 adaptable bedrooms, 18 superior bedrooms and 6 twin bedrooms. The majority of our double bedrooms can be made into twin beds.

We are a fully accessible hotel, with certain restrictions in the Mansion House. Car parking is complimentary across the estate and disabled toilets are located in all areas of the hotel. We are also a dog friendly hotel. We have one life in the hotel which is located in the new end of the hotel.

The reception is open 24 hours and a Duty Manager is on site at all times. We have a small gym that is available to all guests. The main bar is open from midday and closes to non residents at 11pm. Wifi is complimentary to all guests, with access simple and easy. The Ridings bedrooms all contain air conditioning, and all conference rooms in the new end and the Academy are air conditioned also.

Bedroom prices start at £69.00 room only, and breakfast and dinner can be added on at an additional supplement.

Located close to the A10 and M25, we are a short drive from three local towns and business parks. There are tennis courts in cuffley and a swimming pool in both Enfield and Cheshunt. Warner Brother Studios & Harry Potter Land are also just a 25 minute drive. Hertfordshire Golf Club and Cheshunt Golf Club are also a short drive from the hotel.Lea Valley White Water Rafting is also a short drive from the hotel.

Road Directions

Exit the M25 at Junction 25, head north towards Cambridge on the A10. At the next roundabout take the first exit into Lieutenant Ellis Way. Head towards Cuffley and Goffs Oak. Take the first left and proceed over the bridge and straight on. Free on site parking is provided.

De Vere Theobalds Estate is situated 3 miles from Cheshunt station with British Rail connections from London, Liverpool Street. Journey time from Liverpool Street to Cheshunt is about 30 minutes.
