The Cart Shed is back after a short break - Saturdays only to start with and then Fridays and Saturdays. So book now and book ahead to ensure you don't miss out on this unique experience!
Raised on the family farm in Epping, William Alldis picked up a gun around the same time he picked up a saucepan – aged five. His father taught him to shoot in the barn with an air rifle, then swiftly progressed him to shotguns, while William’s grandmother, and mother passed on all the family’s culinary secrets. Both shooting and cooking remained William’s life long passions and William worked as a chef at restaurants across Europe.
William regularly writes for national titles such as Countryman’s Weekly, Shooting Times. He also co-wrote the book 'How to Run a Pop-up Restaurant or Supperclub', published in 2015.
The cart Shed is located on William's family farm just outside Epping in the village of Thornwood in the grounds of the family home.
The Cart Shed is a 24 cover restaurant that is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and for Sunday lunch. "We will be showcasing the best of local and seasonal food, much of which will have been produced on the family farm, but we aim not to travel more than 10 miles for any of our ingredients (except for the odd exotic like lemons for your G&T)".
Along with poultry, quail and squab pigeon the farm is providing much of the food served in the restaurant.
William and his friends will also be out with their guns and fishing rods to provide a little wild meat for the table such as venison, partridge and trout not to mention the humble wood pigeon and rabbit.
"Our restaurant is currently open Saturdays only and then it will mkove to Fridays and Saturdays. It really helps us not to disappoint if you call and book in advance. 07701 33 33 23. If you would like a private party or corporate event just drop us a line".
We look forward to seeing you all soon.
