About

The Barns at Lodge Farm

Epping Green, Epping, Essex. CM16 6FS

Located just outside London, nestling in the countryside on the Essex/Hertfordshire border, Lodge Farm is a tranquil haven just half an hour by train from Liverpool Street station.

There are several beautiful barns onsite, all of which are full of character and remain true to their roots as spaces which have been farmed for generations. There are also a number of stunning outdoor spaces, including a meadow of grass and wildflowers with views of the rolling countryside (and with sunsets that take our breath away!)

All packages include exclusive use of the entire venue to use each space exactly as you wish – there is a home from home feel to the experience and the owners love getting to know everyone who chooses to celebrate their event/wedding at The Barns.

The spaces:

The Old Workshop. A modern, recently converted barn which provides a large, airy, relaxing space for you and your most important friends and family to get ready in on the morning of your wedding. Fully kitted out with cosy sofas, lots of mirrors, dressing tables and its own kitchen, this space has everything you need for a morning of pampering as the excitement builds for the big day ahead.

The Field is a stunning grass and wildflower meadow adjacent to the barns which overlooks the rolling countryside, and which takes your breath away with the most wonderful sunsets! This area is perfect for tipis, marquees, and glamping - or outdoor drinks receptions and games. A peaceful and spacious area to celebrate the summer in style!

The Grain Store is a more modern, industrial barn – a spacious warehouse for dinner and dancing to your heart’s content. This area can accommodate up to 250 seated guests, and boasts both wooden and metal features and newly installed bifold glass doors reaching two storeys tall. Whether you want to fill this space with tables, balloons, cocktail stations, or dance-offs - it will be epic!

The Granary is a traditional timber-frame barn, built in 1870 and licenced for civil wedding ceremonies for up to 160 guests. This space is wooden and beautifully rustic, with some stunning features that you can choose to highlight in your decor – including a wide backdrop for your ceremony, a mezzanine area, and beautiful original wooden beams.

The Yard is a gorgeous outdoor space between The Grain Store and The Granary, ideal for outdoor drinks, receptions, and entertainment. Lit by overhead festoon lighting at night and with plenty of potential for floral installations and outdoor furniture, this area is a versatile canvas to elevate your guest journey in whichever way is most special to you.

The Bar. A stunning, unusual, industrial and chic space – recently converted from an existing agricultural barn and still retaining all original brickwork and steelwork inside. Fully underfloor heated and with three sets of large bifold doors, this space is perfect for drinks receptions or private functions in all weathers.

About the owners:

This is a family-run business who have farmed at Lodge Farm for nearly 100 years. They care deeply about the environment that they have lived on and worked in, and have always farmed with a strong sense of responsibility to maintain the biodiversity of the countryside.

Lodge Farm is a full working arable farm, producing cereals (wheat, oats and barley). The farm is run by Robert Graham, and the venue is managed by his daughter, Bryony, with his son Archie working behind the scenes on both the agricultural and events sides of the business. Whilst you are most likely to spend your time with Bryony during the wedding planning process, it is Robert and Archie who work tirelessly in the background to make sure everything onsite is running smoothly, and is all set and ready to go on your big day.

Having lived and worked on Lodge Farm for decades, they know and love every inch of The Barns and the surrounding countryside, and would love to share this beautiful environment with you.

The Barns at Lodge Farm are also home to Nourish at The Barns, an amazing wellness club and wellness event venue.
