Improving your health is as easy as riding a bike! Get ready for RideLondon, the world’s greatest festival of cycling, with a new format, a new partnership with Essex County Council and a new three-day UCI Women’s World Tour road race.
Let the Cycling for Health team help you get your family ready for the action. The Family rides are a fixed distance so those taking part can take their time. These rides are suitable for families with children 8 years and over.
Cycling is a great activity that can help you and your family get active and improve your health, cycling is a very low impact activity so it can be enjoyed by absolutely everyone.
The routes are generally traffic free as we stick to bridleways and paths.
Booking your place. If you would like to join us on a bike ride, please book a place here online or call 01992 564226 (phone lines open 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday)
You can book onto the group led ride up to 11am the day before.
If you are unable to attend, please let us know so we don’t wait for you and delay the start of the ride. You can leave a message on 01992 564360 or email kmurray@eppingforestdc.gov.uk leaving your full name and the ride details that you wish to cancel: date and time.
Please do not turn up for a ride without booking as we will have to turn you away.
You MUST NOT attend a ride if you are unwell or have any Covid-19 symptoms. Symptoms include a high temperature, a new continuous cough and the loss, or a change to your sense of smell or taste. Find out more about COVID-19, and what you should do if you have symptoms on the NHS website
If you are unable to attend a session due to the above then please inform us and any paid session will be credited to use within a one-month period
Routes & Gradients - The routes used are generally traffic free as we stick to bridleways and paths.
Each ride is given a gradient.
Easy - Routes are flat and on walking/cycling paths where participants can keep a constant steady pace.
Medium - These routes will have varying gradients and may be on bridal way or earth paths. There will still be large sections of flat paths
