The Easter Bunny will be hopping through Mulberry House again this year for our famous Easter Egg Hunt! Pick apart the clues for a yummy surprise, suitable for all ages. We will be serving a scrumptious Afternoon Tea alongside. We will be serving our traditional Mulberry High Tea: Finger sandwiches, warm scones with Tiptree jam, Cornish clotted cream and a selection of easter themed home-made dainty cakes.

About Mulberry House Hotel

Set in 22 acres of beautiful grounds, Mulberry House offers 22 en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant and varied event spaces. Sample delicious cuisine in the hotel restaurant overlooking the beautiful lake or dine outdoors during the summer months on the picturesque terrace. Mulberry House is the perfect setting for your wedding with its all-season permanent marquee and can also accommodate businesses having eight meeting rooms all equipped with conference facilities.

All the bedrooms in the House have wonderful views over the grounds and all rooms have plasma TVs, private bathrooms, televisions, internet access, telephones and tea/coffee facilities.

Hotel accommodation is available in the main house or our affordable courtyard rooms located within the grounds. Mulberry House is able to provide single, twin, and double-room accommodation for up to 35 guests. Bed and Breakfast prices start from £53.00 per room per night.

Room service is available from 11.00am until 21.00pm.

During their stay guests are welcome to walk around the Mulberry House grounds, take tea on the terrace and dine in our restaurant.

Check in available from 14.00pm. Check out by 10.30am. Extended Check in/out may be available at request however an additional fee will be chargeable.

*All Single bedrooms are located in our affordable courtyard area.

Afternoon Tea at Mulberry House

From 2:30pm until 5:00pm the Hotel’s Dining Room and Garden Room play host to our delicious tea service, bringing residents and visitors a great choice of classic tea-time treats including sandwiches (cream cheese  and cucumber, plus the perennially popular combos of smoked salmon and cream cheese, egg mayonnaise and ham), scones homemade that morning with Tiptree jam and Cornish clotted cream and a selection of our Chef's homemade dainty cakes.

We boast a loose leaf tea menu including over 20 teas and infusions and a selection of cafetiere coffees from around the world supplied by Café Du Monde coffee including Jamaican Blue, Columbian and El Salvador.

You could also enjoy a fabulous glass of Prosecco, Champagne or non-alcoholic fruit cocktail.

Dining at Mulberry House

The popularity of our Restaurant has grown rapidly since opening in August 2002. Our Garden Room and elegant Dining Room both overlook the lake and provide a perfect setting for a special meal. The Garden Room's lighting and solid oak flooring creates a vibrant yet intimate atmosphere. On hot Summer evenings, the expansive windows and doors are thrown open to create a feeling of al fresco dining.

We boast an excellent á la Carte menu that is often changed to suit the season, all food is prepared using only the freshest produce. The tempting desserts are home-made and we have an extensive wine list to accompany your meal.

Sunday Lunch at Mulberry House

If your personal Sunday Lunch favourite is ‘melt-in-your-mouth’ roast beef with crunchy Yorkshire puds and golden roasties, you’re in for a real treat here at Mulberry House as it is on the menu every week! We offer three meats along with a fish choice and a vegetarian option with all the usual trimmings.

Serving times: 12.30pm – 2.00pm, subject to availability.

Weddings, Functions and Events at Mulberry House

Whether it is a special birthday, anniversary, christening, party, family dinner or funeral celebration, we will do our utmost to ensure you have the perfect day.

Our team of professional and experienced staff will ensure that we cater for your every need.  Functions can be held in our Mulberry Suite, which provides seating for up to 120 guests, or the Garden Room or the Dining Room both of which provide seating for up to 30 guests each.

Our function menus are varied and creative offering a wide choice of dishes together with Reception Drinks, Canapés and our full Wine list.

Road Directions

Mulberry House is situated on the A414 at High Ongar, Essex. If you are travelling from the M11, exit at junction 7 and follow the A414 towards Chelmsford. Remaining on the A414 pass over three mini roundabouts. The House is on the right, 0.6 miles past the "Four Wantz" roundabout (BP Service Station). If you are travelling from the A12, exit at junction 15 and follow the A414 towards Harlow, you pass over 2 roundabouts and then Mulberry House is situated on your left.

SATELLITE NAVIGATION - Please note that our postcode CM5 9NL may take you to The Street, High Ongar.  We are located on the A414 approximately 100 yards from High Ongar, on the left, as you travel towards Chipping Ongar.

BY RAIL - The nearest mainline station is Harlow Town (National Express East Anglia) then by taxi. The nearest tube station is Epping on the Central Line then by taxi. Mulberry House is approximately a 15 minute drive from Epping Station.

BY BUS Bus No. 20 & 21 (501 on Sunday) - Harlow, Epping Train Station, Ongar, Brentwood Train Station. Bus No. 32 - Chelmsford Train Station, Highwood, Blackmore, Ongar. Bus No. 46 - Chelmsford Train Station, Roxwell, Willingale, Fyfield, Ongar.
