At North Weald station
Our gift shop will be open with a wide selection of souvenirs for sale, as well as a selection of dinosaur merchandise.
The LNER Café will be open offering a range of hot and cold drinks and light refreshments to take away.
At Ongar Station
Meet Bruno, the life size walking, roaring T-Rex dinosaur.
Light refreshments will be available from the Buffet Stop cafe.
Visit the Penny Salon gallery which will be showing a topical photographic exhibition
Join the animal hunt and find the animals hiding around the station
Fares
Why not enjoy an exclusive compartment for your family or group of up to 6 people? Strictly limited number available on each train.
Standard tickets:
Adult: £18;
Child £8;
Family (up to 2 adults and 2 children): £49
Exclusive compartment for up to 6 people: £75
Children under 3 years old are free – no ticket needed - though they are not allocated a seat.
All fares include the connecting heritage bus service from Epping Underground station or Ongar.
Capacity on each train will be limited and advance booking is essential.
Baby dinosaurs will visit passengers on board the train. After the show at Ongar, the train will return you to North Weald.
The experience lasts approximately 90 minutes. The train will journey through the Essex countryside to Ongar, where you will have approximately 55 minutes to enjoy our dinosaur attractions and show. The train will then return you to North Weald. You may finish your journey at Ongar if you wish, but in this case you will not be able to return to North Weald on a later train.
You can find connecting heritage bus times from Epping Underground station by selecting the date of your visit here. Do ensure you leave sufficient time for your connecting bus journey - the train will leave promptly at the times above.
Passengers are asked to arrive no earlier than 30 minutes prior to the departure of their train. You may finish your journey at Ongar, instead of returning to North Weald, if you wish, but you will not be able to return on a later train.
Passengers using the bus from Ongar should note that there will be an extended wait for a return bus if booking for 13.20 train service; An additional bus service will run to connect from the 15.00 train service if required.
All tickets will be scanned electronically on arrival. This can be from a mobile phone or a print out. Please help us by making sure that you have these ready for our volunteers.
Passengers must comply with any government guidance in place on the date of travel.
These trains are planned to be hauled by a steam locomotive. Every effort will be made to operate services as advertised but the Epping Ongar Railway reserves the right to substitute diesel traction for steam in unavoidable circumstances. No refunds will be offered in the event that diesel traction is substituted.

- Facility for service dogs - Well controlled dogs, guide and assistance dogs are welcome on our railway at no extra charge. However we are unable to accept dogs, other than assistance dogs, on our dining trains. Should your companion feel thirsty, there are usually water bowls on the platforms with fresh water available. If you cannot find these, please don't hesitate to ask.

- Parking Areas for Disabled Visitors - There is very limited parking available at the stations, with priority given to blue badge / disabled customers
Catering
- On-Site cafe/restaurant - We have our Anglia café coach at North Weald, which serves a range of hot and cold drinks and light refreshments. We also have the "Buffet Stop" at Ongar, also selling hot and cold drinks, crisps and snacks. We recommend the Picnic and Viewing Area at Ongar to relax and unwind, offering a grandstand view of the station and locomotives. At North Weald we have a number of picnic tables around the site that you are welcome to use. There are a number of local pubs and restaurants in both Ongar and North Weald, all offering hot meals.
