The Damn Yankees Summer Slam Car Show is an annual event at North Weald Airfield Essex, which allows all the members and non members to get their cars out of the garage and show off a little. Every year the cars get judged by an independent panel of judges and trophies are awarded for a number of categories.
The Summer Slam is a great way to get the whole family involved in your love!!
Kids Rides, Childrens Entertainer, Face Painting, Ice Cream Van!! Trade Stands. Also a range of good quality food stalls that will keep them fed which generally includes: Hog Roast, Pie & Mash, Jacket Potatoes and a Beer tent - liquid food!
To keep you all entertained their is live commentary all day of whats going on (John Price- Ex Santa Pod raceway commentator) and a live band that plays over the lunch period and a number of sets through the afternoon to entertain you all.
A number of events happen on around the arena all day, including starting up of drag cars, car owners are interviewed if their car has special interest.
All winners are photographed and the images will appear on this website as well as Classic American and American Car magazine.

Getting to NorthWeald Airfield.
From the M11, take the A414 towards Ongar / Chelmsford. At the first roundabout take the second exit and continue straight over the second roundabout and up to the final roundabout, doubling back to enter at the Main B Gate.
Public Transport Directions
London Underground – take the Central Line to Epping Station. British Rail to Harlow Station from Liverpool Street or Cambridge via Stansted Airport.
By air: North Weald Radio 123.525. TMZ Squawk 7010 Mode C or S when talking to North Weald. The Airfield is open from 0830 to 1900 or sunset + 30 minutes local time, whichever is earlier. Fire Cover Cat 1.
