Medieval Building Myths - Online lecture by James Wright

About

West Essex Archaeological Group - Medieval Building Myths with James Wright

Date: Monday 8th February

Time: 7:15pm - 8:30pm

Event: Online talk via Zoom

Price: £2.00

Proud to be part of Epping Forest District Festival of Culture

Based on James Wright’s regular blog, this talk looks at some of the most common misconceptions surrounding historic buildings. Stories of secret passages, yarns that spiral stairs in castles turn one way to advantage right-handed swordsmen and tall tales of ships timbers in pubs.

The legends are outlined, the origins of the myths are explained and the underlying truth behind each story is revealed. Hopefully the talk will help to give a broader and deeper understanding of mediaeval buildings that will bring us just that little bit closer to their former occupants.

Once you have purchased a ticket, the West Essex Archaeological Group will contact you with details of the event and the Zoom invitation link.

If you are not a user of the PayPal service and wish to pay by a different method, please email weagmembership@outlook.com or, contact the West Essex Archaeological Group on their Facebook page.
