About the play:
Thomas Tallis by Jessica Swale, directed by Hannah Leonard.
A portrait in theatre and music of the life of one of Britain's most successful composers set against the tumultuous political backdrop of the reformation. Waltham Abbey's organist until its dissolution, Tallis lived through dangerous and changeable times under four monarchs, each with radically differing views of the church. He was forced to adapt his compositions to suit their religious demands, but at what cost?
