The saxophone has always been central to jazz music in all it’s forms and this fabulous live music special event celebrates it’s iconic sound with one of the UK’s most illustrious sax maestros, Art Themen.

The Post-Beatles UK jazz scene produced some incredible sounds often over-looked by many but as Art and his band will demonstrate, musicians across the UK wrote, produced and performed jazz of a world-class, world-beating standard.

Art celebrates these “Golden Days of UK Jazz” alongside his 85th birthday, the launch of his latest album and 2024’s Black History Month.

The National Jazz Archive are really excited to bring Art and his incredible trio to Loughton and his fab band featuring Pete Whittaker on organ and George Double on drums and as ever, this is another great fundraiser for the National Jazz Archive, continuing their commitment to showcasing and storytelling all there is about the art and culture of all forms of jazz.
