Comprehensive engagement has been received so far with over 10,500 visitors to the consultation website, 500+ visitors to the six-day public exhibition, and a targeted social media campaign reaching an audience of over 79,000. We are extremely grateful to everyone who contributed.
About the development plans
Five sites in Epping that are owned by Qualis Group, the development company for Epping Forest District Council, are identified in the emerging Local Plan for redevelopment, and with the engagement of local people and businesses, we want to capture an insight of your views and aspirations.
This feedback will directly shape the developments on the sites and influence the future Epping community. We want to work with you to deliver a quality outcome that will inject a new energy and cohesiveness within communities.
Epping High Street remains the civic heart of the District as it has been for decades and will continue to be so. We are here to listen to your ideas and make sure your views are heard.
The suggested proposals signify the start of a vibrant future for the whole of the district. They show new homes being built around green spaces on the St Johns Road site, the Conder Building and car park at The Civic Centre and the Epping Sports Centre sites with the Bakers Lane site being used specifically for a new leisure centre, including a new swimming pool and Cottis Lane site providing car parking and other uses such as retail, offices, a new cinema, hotel to complement the established High Street. The location of these new facilities will potentially also create increased footfall to the High Street and generate a real energy for the walkable town centre.
A 6-day public exhibition has already taken place and following the online presentation, information from the presentation, public exhibition and the consultation platform https://workingtogetherforepping.commonplace.is will be used to inform the designs further development. Once further detailed plans are available these will be updated onto the consultation platform and a second public exhibition will be held in the Autumn, giving further opportunity to comment, prior to the planning applications being submitted.
Qualis Commercial will deliver quality sites that are considerate of the heritage of the area and create cohesive communities, but unlike other developers who keep any profits made, Qualis will reinvest profits back to Epping Forest District Council so that they can continue to develop council housing, keep council tax low and deliver the quality services that residents deserve.
To attend the special online presentation please register your interest by emailing info@qualiscommercial.co.uk and a link will be emailed to you.
