Light Up A Life is a very special annual event, full of the warmth and love that St Clare Hospice has been providing to local people’s lives for over 25 years. It is a chance to pause and remember the lives of our loved ones, in the company of others who understand.
We appreciate that Christmas can be a really emotional time for those who have lost loved ones. Our Light Up A Life events are here to help celebrate lives that have been lost.
Remembering a loved one at a St Clare Light Up A Life event is a great way for friends and family to come together and remember the joy that those close to our hearts brought to our lives.
You do not need to have a personal link to St Clare to attend our services; these are open for everyone who would like to join us in remembering and celebrating the life of loved ones lost.
Each service will include readings and music; the penultimate Light Up A Life events will be the two services at the Hospice where we light our Tree of Remembrance, each light representing the life and memory of someone dear to us.
New for 2017, our Online Book of Remembrance
As ever you can remember a loved one by completing a dedication; this is the name of a loved one that you would like to remember. This name will be inscribed into our Book of Remembrance which is available at the hospice all year round.
Also, new for 2017, we have our interactive Online Book.
put the name of your loved one and a short personal message into the Online Book, and if you wish, to make an online donation to the hospice charity. You can also tell us which service you are planning to attend.
If you are unable to attend a service, you can still make a dedication in our Book of Remembrance and Online Book.

Just like our care, participation in Light up a Life is free of charge. However, if you are able to make a donation alongside your personal dedication, it would be so appreciated by our patients and their families. With very limited funding from the NHS, St Clare relies so heavily on the support of people like you.
Each light on the Tree of Remembrance at St Clare Hospice is dedicated to the memory of a special person and their name is also inscribed in our Book of Remembrance.
To dedicate a light to your loved one, inscribe a message in our Book of Remembrance, and to let us know if you will be attending a service. Email us here or call 01279 773 700.
