About
Living Theatre at the Royal Gunpowder Mills
On tour from Canada, Live History present “Circa”
Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th June - three showings daily
A brand new theatre experience comes to the Royal Gunpowder Mills as the Canadian theatrical group Live History bring you “Circa”, an interactive theatre piece to be performed in the historic setting of the Royal Gunpowder Mills. Each show will be limited to small audiences of 15 to 20 and you will be part of the story!
A worker from of the Royal Gunpowder Mills is transported from their by-gone era to experience the mysterious present with lots of twists and turns promised along the way. This captivating experience is interactive, each audience member becoming part of the unfolding story.
“It’s almost closing time at the Royal Gunpowder Mills when at the museum you run into a strange figure, dressed in period clothes seeming confused. The mysterious character, identifying only as Circa, is horrified to discover she is in the modern era, and many of things she remembers and love are now behind glass. She has no recollection of who she is, or how she got there. Only items from the past seem to trigger memories and stories about her identity. Stay with Circa for anecdotes from the main exhibit’s time period, and travel through other exhibits, searching for clues. Make sure to avoid the security guard at closing time in order to help Circa find her identity; the ultimate treasure”
The show is aimed at audiences aged 14 upwards.
Alongside this wonderful theatrical experience, as part of the ticket price, the theatre goers can enjoy light refreshments. For the 12.00 and 2.00pm shows, there is the option of a 40 minute guided tour of the Royal Gunpowder Mills on our Landtrain at an additional charge of £2.
Tickets for the show and refreshments cost £20. Please note this event is Pre Book only. Tickets can be purchased through the Royal Gunpowder Mills website and Eventbrite page For all show timings please refer to our website or contact 01992 707370
