The Museum Garden Autumn Programme:
The Power of Herbs
Wednesday 5th October, 2 - 4pm
Free
As part of Wellness Wednesday, come to our open day in the Museum Garden and meet the garden volunteers. Learn more about the power of herbs with a range of different demonstrations.
The Power of Botanical Soup
Wednesday 2nd November and Wednesday 7th December - both at 1pm

Come alomg and emjoy a tasty power-boost with a bowl of soup made using botanical herbs grown in the Museum garden. Drop in and find out more about our volunteer garden programme.

Spooktacular Halloween Day Camp - Epping
Come along to our fun-filled spooktacular Halloween themed camp. Enjoy lots of spooky craft activities and games and put together your very own costume to wear to our Spooky party at the end of the day.

Family Fun Drop in: Make an Ancient Egyptian Anubis Mask - Waltham Abbey
Come and make your very own Anubis mask inspired by the new exhibition Animal Mummies: Uncovered. This god, who took the form of a wild dog, helped Ancient Egyptians begin their journey to the afterlife.
All ages are welcome but the activity most suits those aged from 5 to 11 years.
No need to book, just drop in during the times below and allow about 30 minutes to do the activity.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Play in the Forest - High Beech
Have fun playing games at our Halloween Play in the Forest special event. You can take part in bug- hunting, den-building and a storytelling session as well as a host of spooky activities.
Fancy dress is encouraged! (but not essential).
For all ages, parental supervision required throughout.

Children’s Pumpkin Carving Workshop - Ongar
Come along to Ongar Fire Station and carve your own Halloween pumpkin.
Whether you want to make a traditional design, or try something completely different, our expert pumpkin carvers will help you create your own unique pumpkin to take home!
We will provide everything you need to spookify your doorstep this Halloween.

Epping Forest Inclusion Project October Half Term Programme
The Epping Forest Inclusion Project supports children and young people aged 3-25 with a learning difficulty or disability, through sport and leisure activities. We work alongside many providers in Essex to provide specialist support and fun activities all year round. We offer both term-time activities as well as a school holiday programme.
Activities Club - Epping
This half term we are running our activity club for 3 days! Join us and take part in lots of different activities from arts and crafts to team building games, sports and food workshops. We have FREE spaces available to children who receive Free School Meals and paid spaces for anyone who does not. We also have hot and cold lunches on offer!

Pumpkin Carving - Chigwell
This Halloween we are carving spooky pumpkins!
Everyone will receive a pumpkin and carving kit to take home after we’ve finished carving. We want to see all of your pumpkin designs and can’t wait for this scarily good activity.

For adults wanting to learn a new skill this autumn or start making homemade Christmas presents we’re running the following:
Pumpkin Carving Creations - Epping
Come along for our two-hour workshop and learn how to make pumpkin houses and other intricate pumpkin art during the evening. You’ll learn some amazing new skills and come away with your very own pumpkin masterpieces.

Road Directions
The Museum is located in the heart of the historic town of Waltham Abbey, situated just outside the M25 between Epping Forest and the Lee Valley. From the M25, leave at junction 26 and follow the signs to Waltham Abbey.
Free parking is currently available at the Abbey Gardens carpark which is a 10 minute walk from the museum. Further pay and display parking is available in the town centre, the nearest car park is Quaker Lane car park which is a 2 minute walk from the museum.
Public Transport Directions
The museum is a 25 minute walk from Waltham Cross Railway Station. A taxi rank is located outside the station. Buses also operate from Waltham Cross Bus Station which is a 5 minute walk from the station and a bus stop is located within a 2 minute walk of the museum.
