Doing the Lambourne Walk

Join Countrycare for a 4.5 mile guided walk around the beautiful ancient woodlands of the Lambourne Estate. This circular walk is fairly flat but can be quite muddy in wet weather. Sturdy footware and a snack are recommended.
Booking is essential - call 01992 564224. In case of bad weather, the event may be cancelled.
Cost is £2 per person.

Epping Forest Countrycare is Epping Forest District Council’s award winning Countryside Management Service. It is the key resource for advice, information and practical assistance on the countryside, nature conservation and wildlife law. Countrycare undertakes a wide variety of community-based activities and coordinates a regular programme of practical conservation work. From coppicing trees to planting new ones, from dredging ponds to creating new ones, from planting a hedge to laying it, building countryside furniture, path maintenance and habitat creation, Countrycare and its happy band of volunteers gets stuck in. Road Directions
The start point is St Mary and All Saints Church Lambourne which is approx. 1 mile up Church Lane which is just off the Ongar Road travelling east out of Abridge. There is no public transport link from the Ongar Road so a car or comfortable shoes are essential. If you think you're getting lost, you're not, just keep going.
As well as the walk, all visitors are welcome to the church which is open during daylight hours.
