Roding Valley Meadows - Meeting at the car park: Grange Farm Centre, High Rd, Chigwell IG7 6DP
Monday 29th July 2024 1pm - 2:30pm for children aged 5 years and above
Come and discover what bugs and beasties call Roding Valley Meadows home. We will be using nets and pots to catch butterflies and other insects and identifying them.
For 5 years and above. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

About Grange Farm
Wind your way along the meandering pathways of Chigwell Meadows, accessible for all, and you will discover a haven for wildlife including deer, hedgehogs, stouats, bees, great crested newts and foxes together with a variety of birds. The meadows are home to a unique swale running centrally through the reed beds into a pond with its aquatic life.
The Roding Valley Nature Reserve is situated next door and be accessed over the pedestrian footbridge, crossing the M11. Visitors are encouraged to explore the beauty of this ancient landscape recognised by being granted a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and learn of its fascinating history. The Grange Farm Centre is also home for Essex Wildlife Trust who manage and maintain the Roding Valley Nature Reserve.

Epping Forest Countrycare is Epping Forest District Council’s award winning Countryside Management Service. It is the key resource for advice, information and practical assistance on the countryside, nature conservation and wildlife law.
