Description
Join us as we explore the theme of lost houses set upon the principal floor of Copped Hall. Dr Hannah Armstrong will uncover the history of East London’s lost palace, Wanstead House. By piecing together a rich variety of dispersed and fragmented evidence, Dr Hannah Armstrong will chart the rise and fall of Wanstead and its owners, consider the complexities of studying lost sites and re-establish Wanstead’s rightful place amongst Georgian England’s most significant and influential country houses. The evening will feature the lecture, exhibitions and roaring fires as Copped Hall is illuminated at night. Booking is essential as numbers are limited. A licensed bar will be available
