A fund raising event for the National Jazz Archive, the Archive Chair, Mark Kass, describes this must-see concert:
Many moons ago, Dagenham was in Essex so we’re unofficially adopting Mr Dudley Moore as a local jazz hero!
Renowned for his role as “Arthur” in the eponymous Hollywood movies, Dudley Moore was a renowned comedian, satirist, wit, raconteur and a damned fine jazzman!
Classically trained, Moore wrote jazz and classical music for TV, Radio and recorded with some incredible musicians and stars of stage and screen.
This show - another of our incredible storytelling fundraisers - is brilliantly presented by top-notch musicians The E17 Jazz Trio.
Also local chaps, Dudley’s story will be ably told and musically illustrated by the E17 Jazz Collective’s very adept Nick Tomalin on piano and keyboard, Dave Manington on double bass and Marek Dorcik on drums.
As I’m inclined to say, the National Jazz Archive is not just a store room, but a STORY room…and trust me, this is one story you won’t want to miss!
