This session is for anyone wishing to explore their voice: beginners, choir members, singers and actors (amateur and semi-professional). The first part of the session (30 min) will guide participants through productive warm-up and work-out techniques for breath control, flexibility, vowels and range. Participants will be able to try out the exercises in the privacy of their own home, with a view to freeing up their voices and incorporating ideas into any songs they sing.
The second part of the session (30 min) is an opportunity for up to six soloists to sing a song of their choice to the group and find ways of improving interpretation suggested by the leader. The group will be able to observe soloists working live and listen to different styles, timbres and repertoire.
To close the whole session (30 min) everyone will be invited to join in a “cool down” and listen to remotely created performances by the Woodford Singers.
