This is the very first Live Now Play Later Acoustic Sessions at the Hobo Club Live Lounge. Three guest songwriters will be performing original music and a few of their favourite cover songs, performed in songwriter rounds made famous by the Nashville music scene.
An intimate night celebrating new music and songwriting hosted by Loughton’s own Songwriter in residence Sara Shevlin (Oh My Empress). For the January Acoustic Sessions Sara will be joined by special guests Amber Leigh Irish & James Christie.
Amber Leigh Irish is an incredible artist with a phenomenal fanbase of over 1.2million monthly listeners on spotify. Her dreamy vocals are regularly played on mainstream TV shows like Love Island & her songwriting is beautiful, sweet & often intertwined with a surprising dash of humour. We are excited for her to share her talent & brilliant energy with our local audience!
With comparisons to artists such as Ben Howard and James Vincent McMorrow, James Christie captivates his audiences with hauntingly beautiful vocals and lyrics that are layered over intricate guitar melodies. Having taken a break from writing and performing to achieve a PhD in Volcanology James returned to songwriting at the start of the 2020s, releasing his latest single ‘Lies’ shortly after. With more music in the pipeline, James has agreed to share and perform some of these new songs on the 23rd and we can’t wait for you to discover the music of this brilliant artist and songwriter.
