If you are not already a member of Bedford House Community Association there is a temporary £1 membership fee for each course (except the Glass Fusing and Poetry courses which have a £10 membership fee). Watercolour: Learn from the Artist - Pierre Bonnard

Saturday 8th June 2019

10am to 3pm

Tutor: Ann Funston

Workshop fee: £31.90

Enabling students to examine the technique of a great watercolourist and thereby develop their own work. Suitable for those with some previous experience of watercolours. Tea and coffee making facilities available but please bring a packed lunch.

 

Basket Making Beginners

Saturday 8th June 2019

10am to 6pm

Tutor: Deb Hart

Class Fee £59.00

Learn how to create a traditional fruit picker basket from Somerset willow. You will learn at least three different styles of weaving starting from the base to the handle. Discover a great new environmentally friendly hobby that could enable you to create presents for your family and friends! No experience necessary, all materials and tools supplied by the tutor. Tea and coffee making facilities available but please bring a packed lunch.

 

Photography: Taking Portraits

Saturday 15th June 2019

10am to 3pm

Tutor: Louise Moore

Class Fee £31.90

One day workshop exploring the process of taking photographs of people to create dramatic images. There will be an opportunity to take shots indoors with studio lighting and outdoors in the grounds of Bedford House, weather permitting. Just bring your camera and plenty of enthusiasm. Participants need not be experienced but are expected to have a basic understanding of how to use their camera and its functions. Tea and coffee making facilities available, please bring a packed lunch.

 

Art Workshop: Butterflies and other insects

Saturday 15th June 2019

10am to 3pm

Tutor: Katherine Poluck

Class Fee £31.90

A day exploring how to depict, in a variety of drawing and water-based painting media, the beauty and fascination of butterflies, other insects and their habitats. For both beginners and the more-experienced artist. Techniques in graphite pencil, watercolour, and composition will be demonstrated. The tutor is a local artist and adult education teacher with a diploma in botanical illustration. Please bring sketchbook/paper, graphite pencils, watercolours, brushes and a water pot. Tea and coffee making facilities available, please bring a packed lunch.

The nearest tube station is Buckhurst Hill on the Central Line. Upon leaving the station, walk along Palmerstone Road in the direction of the High Road and turn right into Westbury Road where Bedford House Community Association is on the left.
