Join us on Zoom on Tuesday 18 October at 7pm for a talk by Dr Ken Griffin, curator at the Egypt Centre, Swansea. He will share his knowledge of animal mummification in Ancient Egypt, focusing on the special objects loaned to Epping Forest District Museum for the 'Animal Mummies: Uncovered' exhibition which runs from 17 Sept to 17 Dec 2022.

This talk is inspired by the current district museum exhibition: Animal Mummies: Uncovered which runs Saturday 17th September – Saturday 17th December at the Epping Forest District Museum, 39 – 41 Sun Street, Waltham Abbey, EN9 1EL

Showcasing objects on loan from the Egypt Centre, Swansea University ad Saffron Walden Museum, the exhibition is family-friendly with interactive trails, dress-up activities and the chance to learn more about the history of animal mummification.

The Museum is located in the heart of the historic town of Waltham Abbey, situated just outside the M25 between Epping Forest and the Lee Valley. From the M25, leave at junction 26 and follow the signs to Waltham Abbey.
Free parking is currently available at the Abbey Gardens carpark which is a 10 minute walk from the museum. Further pay and display parking is available in the town centre, the nearest car park is Quaker Lane car park which is a 2 minute walk from the museum.
Public Transport Directions
The museum is a 25 minute walk from Waltham Cross Railway Station. A taxi rank is located outside the station. Buses also operate from Waltham Cross Bus Station which is a 5 minute walk from the station and a bus stop is located within a 2 minute walk of the museum.
